We only halfheartedly discourage Sophie Cat from using the couch as a scratching post, because she deserves one and we haven't provided one yet. I've designed one for her and would like to build it myself instead of buying an ugly carpet-covered-cat-castle from the store. But we'll see when I find time to tackle that project... For now, here's a temporary fix!
Using an upholstery textile sample handed down from Patty Benson, I draped, stapled and hand-stitched the covers over the existing mess!
Finished both "shoulder pads" in an afternoon, but haven't had enough light to take a good "done" shot yet. So, stay tuned.
